Day 11 and 12 - A side trip to reality

Day 11 -  I woke up in Glacier National Park for the last time this year and had to say a sad adieu.  Auf wiedersehen my favorite spot in the USA! See you next year about this same time. Reservations are already made.  Anyone want to come with me?
Bob and I had to get up early because I had a 1:30 pm flight to catch out of Great Falls,  MT (I have a meeting in Washington DC tomorrow - I will be back in Great Falls by 10 pm tomorrow night so the trip will continue Tuesday morning). It was colder than should be allowed in July. A mist hung over the mountains and it cast an earie feeling over the entire terrain.  Obviously the park did not want me to leave. Quiet and wet with a tinge of some sort of unknown  anticipation, the hopeful campers were already lining up at 6:30 am for one of the coveted camping spots tonight (it's first come first serve). As we left the fog was turning to mist and coating everything with its dewey shine.  Colder still.
The ride down to Great Falls was cold,  beautiful and uneventful.  I bid Bob a "see you later" and now here I am on the flight to DC.
I can do this.

Day 12 -  Woke up,  put on my professional work clothes,  and hit the business world.  Met 5 of my colleagues,  visited a couple of client offices then back to the airport.  A quick change of clothes and I am back to vacation mode. My flight leaves in 2 hours. Amazing -  wake up in Glacier National Park,  fly to Washington DC for a couple of meetings,  then fly back to Montana,  all in 32½ hours. Tomorrow it's back on the bike!

  1. You put road warriors to shame! You are doing it the right way, by squeezing in a little work between enjoying life's pleasures, instead of the other way around.
